Question: Are you a last minute gift buyer or do you plan ahead?

I am asking because my friend is getting married in less than a month. I bought her gift last month off her registry. I just went to look at it because I need to get her a gift for her shower and I am still the ONLY person who has bought anything off of there. That is quite surpising to me. So do you plan ahead like me or wait until the week of the wedding and buy then?

If it's something off a registry, I usually just wait. In my opinion, it's not like it takes a lot of forethought to buy something off a pre-chosen list. Although, if she's had a shower - that's surprising that there are still no gifts purchased... you'd think the shower-goers would have bought more things by now. Now, if I'm coming up with my own idea, I definitely plan ahead. But I'd have to be really close to the couple to go outside what I knew they'd enjoy and buy them something else. :)

I actually wonder how often the stores update the registry purchases from in store shopping. it seems that the registries I look at often show little to no purchases made - even though I see people shop and turn in the registry page...

Lately I've been a last minute buyer but I try to buy early enough so that I can get something nice within my price range. There's always 3 categories on the registry it seems: 1) way too expensive items 2) real cheap items that you have to get multiples of or 3) the perfect in between item. I try to go for #3 but those get taken up real fast.

It may not mean people aren't buying the gifts, it may just mean the store isn't updating the gift registry, which sucks because she will get 12 of 1 thing and none of the other things she took all that time to put on the list.

I'm soooooo last minute!!! Forget "week of, " I generally go shopping on THE DAY OF! For a wedding, most people get and give cash. For the shower, it's generally gifts. If you look within two weeks of the shower, you should (hopefully) see it decreasing. The other factor would be where she registered. If she registered at an expensive place, some people may have bought the same thing cheaper somewhere else.

To be honest, I look at the registry whenever I find out where they're registered. But I don't actually buy a gift until close to the wedding. Sometimes it's two or three days before, other times it's the day of the wedding.

I am totally a last minute gift buyer. I always mean to plan ahead, but the truth is that buying for a wedding doesn't seem to take priority until it gets down until the days (once even minutes) before the wedding. It is just one of those things that seems to fall to the bottom of my list.

I'm def. a "buy it as soon as I get the invitation " kind of person. I hate waiting (plus the selection is picked over) because maybe I'm afraid I'll forget (who knows!). Maybe everyone is just going off the registry???
