I wanted to get a Wii for Christmas for my family. My 8 year old son played it at a friends house and came home asked to get one for Christmas. That sealed it for me. After calling stores for days I managed to get one of 24 the local Sam's Club got in. While standing in line, my wife calls and asked me to get two which I agreed to until I found out they would only sell me one. Since then, I've called stores every day to find one for my mother in law, but with no luck.My son doesn't know that we have this. He goes out online looking for a Wii now. He even told his scout leader that he's afraid we won't get one. I keep telling me we're still looking which is true. Today my wife asked me if I would give up the one we have as a " selfless gift" for Christmas so her mom can give this to my brother in law's family since they can't find one and it's not looking like we'll find one soon. She would reimburse us. What would you do?My bro in laws kids are about the same age as mine. He's a pilot and is gone frequently. His wife is less than friendly toward the rest of the family. My MIL constantly has to work to keep in good graces with them.One sticky point my snoopy 11 year old daughter found this and knows we have it. She's kept it as a secret so far but it could slip out before or after Christmas.

The sister in law is 16, the nieces are 15 and 13 and gift certificates for clothes is an easy option. All three like to read and have all the Twilight, Vampire Dairies Academy, etc. books. The 16 year old is kind of into the whole emo look, likes Breaking Benjamin, Secondhand Serenade.The 15 year old wants to learn more about cooking but I can't find a " Beginner's" cookbook.The 13 year old is a tech geek who never puts her cell phone down.I know what I would LOVE to give all three, a Kindle, but their mothers' would kill me for spending that much money on them. I'm completely lost.

The children don't really have an answer when asked what they would like or what they are into. Was hoping other parents had ideas to come up with special gifts when you don't have the opportunity to be there with them to know what they would love.
